Monday, August 7, 2017 – 11:30 AM to 12:00 Noon: Raksha Bandhan (Raakhee)
On this auspicious festival day (Raakhee Poornimaa), sisters tie a “protection” thread on the wrist of their brothers and elders tie them on the wrist of young ones. You are welcome to perform this celebration in the temple in front of the deities. The priest will recite the mantra:
Yen baddho Bali raajaa, daanvendro mahabali;
Tenatwaam pratibadhnaami, rakshe maachal maachala.
Monday, August 7, 2017–Morning and Evening: Shravan Siva Abhishek
There is special importance of Shiva Abhishek in the month of Shravan. Please join us with family and friends to participate in Shravan Shiva Abhishek at the temple on Monday, August 7, 2017 morning (10:30 AM to 11:30 AM) or evening (7:00 PM to 8:00 PM). The Abhishek will be performed the following Monday also. It will be followed by Aaratee.
Many devotees bring a gallon jug of milk for Abhisheka. We had several gallons of milk and it was wasted. So we request that please bring only a pint of milk and give the rest of the money to the temple in cash (which is always needed) or bring following items which the temple needs for daily poojaas: Chandan Powder, KumKum, Ghee, Dry Fruits (Almonds, Cashews), Paper Towel rolls, Match boxes or lighters (big size).
Monday, August 7, 2017 – 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM: Satya Narayan Poojaa
HTCC celebrates every Poornimaa night with a Saamoohik Satya Narayan Kathaa. This is Raakhee Poornimaa night. Please join us with family and friends to participate in the program. Acharyaji will perform the poojaa and recite the kathaa from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. This will be followed by Rudraabhishek (see above) and then Aaratee and Prasaad. You are requested to bring flowers, fruits and Prasad (sweets).
Tuesday, August 8, 2017 – 7:00 PM: Hanuman Chalisa Paath
Tuesday is Hanuman Ji’s day. HTCC celebrates it with Hanuman Chalisa Paath. Please join us with family and friends to participate in the program. The program will be followed by Aaratee and Prasaad. You are requested to bring flowers, fruits and Prasad (sweets).
