HTCC Advisory Council

Formation of HTCC Advisory Council and invitation to other donors to join

Dear Devotees:

I am pleased to inform you of a new development in the management of Hindu Temple and Cultural Center of the Rockies (HTCC). During the September 24, 2017 Board meeting, the Board approved certain amendments to HTCC Articles of Incorporation and HTCC Bylaws. There was a provision for Advisory Council in the Bylaws and the amended Bylaws clarify the purpose and scope of Advisory Council.

The Bylaws provide that an Advisory Council may be formed comprising of those community members who have made large financial contributions to HTCC. The Advisory Council would have a say in the management of the organization as it would be able to make some nominations for trusteeship. The main role of Council will be to advise the Board on financial and policy matters. It will also help with fund raising and special projects.

Accordingly, about 50 potential members, in three categories of donors were invited to attend an initial meeting of Advisory Council at the temple on Sunday, October 15, 2017:

Legacy Donors (total donation of more than $100,000 from 2006 to 2016): Chaman and Aruna Malhotra, Deepak and Jyotishna Malhotra, Inder Mathur, Lakshmi and Raj Mrig, Krishna and Rthna Murthy, Inder and Reva Nayar, Srinivas and Shyama Reddy, and Eileen Saran.

Sponsors (total donations of $25,000 to $99,999 from 2006 to 2016): Ashutosh and Sreedevi Ashutosh, Deepak and Rita Bhasin, Arun and Janet Budhiraja, Kamalesh and Rita Dwivedi, Mahesh and Subhadra Jha, Narender and Camille Kumar, Rajanikant and Shanthi Maddhi, Amiya and Rajlakshmi Mansingh, C.P. Patrons (total donations of $10,000 to $24,999 from 2006 to 2016): Rajesh and Chapala Agarwal, Pramod and Anita Agarwal, Mr.& Mrs. Anil Antal, Dibyajyoti and Nilanjana Aichbhowmik, Sameer and Vandana Chopra, Jayprakash Gnanam, Anand and Varsha Kumar, Satish (Sam) and Shashi Kumar, Satish Kumar, Sunil and Sujata Kumar, Ganesh and Roopasri Kurse, Mohan and Shikha Misra, Narinder and Kusum Mohan, Hemant and Mita Mukherjee, Booknakere and Padma Niranjan, Vasant and Asha pawar, Anshuman and Bhargavi Purohit, Prabhakara and Revathi Rao, Kumar and Anuradha Rao, Raghavendra and Padmini Sametanahalli, Bipendra K Sinha, Sridhar and Lakshmi Talanki, Shashi and Meera Tiwari, Krishna and Jaishree Vaidyanathan, and Namapalli and Rekha Vijay.

The meeting was attended by more than half the invitees. They positively supported the idea of Advisory Council and its potential role in helping the management of HTCC. Mr. Narender Kumar, CEO of engineering firm Kumar & Associates and a former HTCC VP of New Temple Project volunteered to be Convener of Advisory Council and will help develop the structure of the organization.

The group has already embarked on two initiatives. Dr. Murthy of Fort Collins has started a special fund totally focused on Mortgage Payment. Some members have already made a pledge and others are expected to join. Please click here to see the form, print it and complete it to make your donation/pledge:

The second initiative is to finish the kitchen. Mr. Narender Kumar is leading this effort. The kitchen will get built sooner, if we have the funds. So, I request you to make a donation, using one of the several avenues described under Please Donate section on the website and designate that your donation should be used for building the kitchen.

On behalf of the HTCC Board of Trustees and my personal behalf, I thank the members of Advisory Council for helping us build the new temple and now taking interest in its management. The goal is to make sure that not only the temple survives but thrives.

I also want to take this opportunity to invite other donors to join this elite group – the people uniquely blessed by God to have the desire and means for helping the community by building a beautiful temple as a gathering place for the community for decades to come. You can add to the donations you have already made over last ten years to become a patron, sponsor or even a legacy donor. If you are not sure of how much you have donated already, please contact Mahesh Jha, Interim President at or Satish Kumar, Treasurer at to find out. You can give your donation by check payable to Hindu Temple and mailed to 7201 S. Potomac Street, Centennial, CO 80112.

Thanks to all the donors and may God bless all of you and your families.

With Regards,

Mahesh Jha

Interim President, HTCC
